On Saturday, 17 December 2016, Kaya Childcare held our very first paediatric health screening for 0 to 5 year old children of the Kayayo women at Madina, Accra. We successfully screened 87 kids aged 0 to 3, and had about 20 mothers still waiting in line when it got dark.
The purpose of the pediatric health screening was to set a baseline health record of the kids we will have in our center. It fulfills a critical aspect of holistic early childhood development, that is good health.
The event kicked off a little over 2pm with help from a pediatrician, a dentist, and two nurses. As well as volunteers from Ashesi University and University of Ghana Legon who helped the medics in registration and taking vitals of the kids. They also managed a play area with face painting, colouring and music to keep waiting mothers and kids engaged.
We would like to thank all our sponsors, supporters, volunteers and most especially the mothers for a successful health screening.
Partner with us for the next health screening.
